A project ‘Effectiveness of the Active Rehabilitation (AR) programme for people after spinal cord injury’ has begun at the Department of Adapted Physical Activity at the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań. The research is funded through a competition of the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
The project will be carried out among people after spinal cord injury in Poland. Such people, despite access to specialised medical care and rehabilitation, are often unprepared to return from hospital to everyday life and work. The research is the first comprehensive, scientific evaluation of an AR programme in Poland.
The main objective of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the rehabilitation programme implemented during national AR camps, and to implement standards for this evaluation at AR camps. The results of the research will be published in journals and presented at a scientific conference foreseen in the project.
