Professor Tadeusz Widła from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia became the laureate of the Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Award organized by the Polish Criminalistic Society. He received the award for the book “World of signatures”.
Assessing the submitted works, the jury was guided by their scientific level, the opinions of reviewers and promoters, the topicality and novelty of the presented subject matter, as well as the particular importance for forensic practice. Works based on empirical research were highly rated.
Professor Widła is an expert in the field of writing research and promoter of many PhD dissertations in the field of forensics. He wrote monographs in the field of psychophysiology of the writing and the role of an expert opinion. He is the author of popular academic textbooks for logic and scientific articles. For years, he has been specializing in the research of painters’ signatures – which is the topic of the awarded publication.
