The sixth Polish Plastics Converters Association’s (PZPTS) competition for the best diploma thesis on innovative use of plastics has been concluded.
The winner of the competition was Eng. Martyna Winnik, a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, for her thesis ‘Manufacturing and characterisation of polymeric thermoplastic nanocomposites’. The winner received a cash prize of PLN 5,000.
The Competition Council also decided to award two distinctions to the thesis by Kingia Krużel from the Kraków University of Technology, ‘Evaluation of the effect of conditioning on the structure and properties of biopolyamide nanocellulose nanocomposites’ and Julia Rżewska from the Warsaw University of Technology, ‘Optimisation of poly(glycerine citraconate) production’.
The first competition for the best graduation thesis in the field of plastics was organised by PZPTS in 2016. The aim of the initiative is to promote plastics-related topics among young scientists and encourage young people to educate themselves in this field.
