Prof. Piotr Ponikowski, the rector of the Medical University in Wrocław, was included in the prestigious list of the most-cited scientists in the world. In 2021, Highly Cited Researchers includes 6602 people, including 6 people from Poland.  

Prof. Piotr Ponikowski, cardiologist, rector of the Medical University in Wrocław and director of the Institute of Heart Diseases at the University Clinical Hospital was the first Pole in history to be mentioned on the list published by Clarivate Analytics for the seventh time in a row.

– I am glad that I have been in such an honorable group once again. I treat it not only as a personal success but also as an important achievement for my university. It will undoubtedly strengthen the position of the Medical University of Wrocław in international rankings, and it will certainly have an impact on our position on the Shanghai list – says Prof. Ponikowski.
