Rector of the Silesian University of Technology becomes the chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland

Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk became the new chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP) for the 2020-2024 term.

KRASP was established on June 7, 1997 by the rectors of 73 universities – members of the then active rectors’ conferences of various types of universities. Currently, the institution consists of rectors of 107 universities, including 11 private universities. In addition, nine schools have the status of affiliated universities. About one million people study at the universities associated within KRASP.

According to the new chairman, one of the most important tasks in his new term of office will be the integration of the academic community, cooperation and creation of research and teaching potential.

– Extremely important, especially now in the conditions of an epidemic, is the mutual support of the academic environment in matters of current activities and resource optimization, dissemination of good practices and management knowledge – says Prof. Mężyk.
