30.03.2021

There can be no consent to any form of anti-Semitism in social and academic life, stated the Rector’s Collegium of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) of John Paul II.

The Rector’s Collegium of the Catholic University of Lublin emphasized that both in the teaching of the Church and subsequent popes – including St. John Paul II – readers can find many calls to create friendly and fraternal ties with Jews.

The Catholic University of Lublin, following the example and attitude of its patron – St. John Paul II, wants to establish relationships and close cooperation with the Jewish community in Poland, as well as with representatives of Israel.

The Catholic University of Lublin has reminded that in recent months the rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Fr. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski spoke by phone to the Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich. They also met a few weeks ago in Warsaw, visiting the local synagogue.

In February, the rector of the Catholic University of Lublin was a guest of the Vice-ambassador of Israel in Poland, Tal Ben-Ari Yaalon. The Rector’s Collegium of the Catholic University of Lublin informs that both talks concerned cooperation involving youth exchange from Poland and Israel.
