The rectors of all Poznan universities and presidents of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań and the Poznań Society of Friends of Sciences (PTPN) solemnly signed the Charter of Academic Traditions of Poznań. The ceremony took place in the PTPN meeting room on the centenary of the establishment of the Organizational Committee of the Polish University in Poznań.

The jubilee is an opportunity to confirm the values that guided the creators of the Poznań University and set the directions in which the Poznań scientific community should follow, and the Charter commemorates the most important events and people, as well as the ideas that preceded the establishment of the university in 1919.

– We treat the legacy of the creators of Wszechnica Piastowska (Poznan University) and the later academic environment of Poznań as a challenge and duty for all of us, sharing the faith in the importance of science development, the importance of academic education and the mission we have to fulfill, exceeding the divisions and paving new paths of modern Universitas- emphasized rectors in the Charter.
