According to the report prepared by the educational portal “Perspektywy”. Nearly 50,000 students educate at 32 vocational higher schools in Poland, belonging to the Conference of Rectors of Public Vocational Schools.
State Higher Vocational Schools (PWSZ) operate in smaller cities and provide education with a practical profile in cooperation with the social and economic environment. This is a group of relatively new schools with the oldest University of Applied Sciences in Tarnów that operates for only 22 years. It is also the largest vocational university in Poland, with 3,778 students.
The next in terms of the number of students is the University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz (3277), and the third position in this list is occupied by the President Stanisław Wojciechowski Akademia Kaliska (2799).
Vocational higher schools in Poland employ 4,679 academic teachers, including 205 professors.
