Research starts with the Krakow Solaris synchrotron

03.10.2018

Kraków scientists began regular research in the Solaris Synchrotron National Radiation Center. The synchrotron creates unique research possibilities, previously unavailable in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Polish synchrotron enables three research opportunities: PEEM (measurements using photoelectron microscopy), XAS (X-ray absorption spectroscopy) and UARPES (angular-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy).

The Krakow synchrotron provides research in such fields of science as biology, chemistry, physics, material engineering, nanotechnology, medicine, pharmacology, geology and crystallography. The Solaris Center is the first center in Poland with aim to conduct research not only by its employees, but also by the scientists from other institutions free of charge.
