Aleksandra Pekowska and Grzegorz Sumara defeated 45 candidates from all over the world and they will set up research teams in Warsaw as part of the Centers of Scientific Excellence Dioscuri next year.

The Dioscuri program was created on the initiative of the Max Planck Society to set up research teams able to compete effectively in the international arena. The first call for the creation of Centers was announced in Poland in cooperation with the National Science Center.
Research teams within the Centers program will be established at the Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Every team will receive 1.5 million euros for five years.
