Professor Krzysztof Solarz from the Medical University of Silesia won a grant in the SYNTHESYS competition as part of the European Commission Grants Program HORIZON 2020. The scientist will carry out the project “Domestic mites (Astigmatina: Pyroglyphidae, Acaroidea, Glycyphagoidea) and other Astigmatina as forensic indicators”.
The grant concerns the use of allergenic mites – dust, storage, food pests) and forensic mites from the Astigmatina cohort in forensic medicine (issues related to product quality, food quality, exposure to allergy mites in the workplace and forensic analysis).
SYNTHESYS is a framework program of the European Union and the European Commission, including the largest and most prestigious European natural history museums, botanical gardens and scientific units related to taxonomic research. Activities and projects The SYNTHESYS consortium are coordinated by the Museum of Natural History in London.
