Dr Iwona Mazur from the Department of English Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan has been nominated for the Scientist of the Future 2024 award for carrying out innovative research work that has implementation potential and can influence the intelligent development of socio-economic life.
The nomination was awarded in connection with her research on audiodescription, which levels the playing field for visually impaired people in accessing cultural heritage and other visual content. Dr Iwona Mazur’s project ‘Visually impaired people and the functions of multimodal texts: Developing a functional model for audiodescription’, funded under the OPUS 24 competition.
The Scientist of the Future Award recognises Polish and foreign scholars pursuing innovative scientific projects that may change our lives in the future. Winners of the award are selected in a competition organised by the Intelligent Development Forum Foundation.
