The head of the Laboratory of Experimental and Translational Immunology at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk (UG) and Gdańsk Medical University, Dr Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak, Professor UG, has been nominated by the Foundation for Polish Science to AcademiaNet, a portal run by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

AcademiaNet is a global community and database of female experts, women with outstanding achievements in the field of science they represent. Joining AcademiaNet is only possible by external nomination from one of its 43 selected partners, with scientific excellence and maturity as the criterion for selection. 

AcademiaNet was established in 2010 on the initiative of the German Robert Bosch Foundation. Its role is to help identify female researchers with prestigious professional achievements. Female experts are leaders and recognised researchers who are pursuing their career paths in an unprecedented way.
