Prof. Marta Pokrywczyńska, from the Faculty of Medicine at the Nicolaus Copernicus University Medical College in Toruń, was awarded the “Golden OTIS” Trust Award in the category ‘Scientific Debuts’.

The ‘Golden OTIS’ Trust Award is given to outstanding doctors, pharmacists, journalists and patient organisations and pharmaceutical companies. Awarded individuals and organisations boast achievements in improving the functioning of the healthcare system and the trust of patients. 

The awardee’s research interests focus on bladder construction using tissue engineering techniques, including the search for optimal biomaterials and cell sources for regenerating the reconstructed bladder and investigating the molecular and cellular basis of the regeneration mechanism. The overarching goal of the research is to introduce the manufactured therapeutic products into clinical practice in urology.
