Dr Marta Sylla from the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław has won a scholarship from the Minister of Education and Science for outstanding young scientists for scientific achievements in the discipline of socio-economic geography and spatial management.
The scholarship is awarded to young scientists who conduct innovative, high-quality research and have impressive scientific achievements with international appeal.
In order to win the scholarship, one must have the status of a young scientist – be a doctoral student or academic teacher, with or without a doctorate, but no longer than seven years. The Wroclaw-based researcher is one of five people in Poland with a scholarship in the discipline of socio-economic geography and spatial management.
Dr Sylla was recognised for authorship of high-scoring scientific publications, leadership of a highly innovative project, practical application of research results and completion of foreign internships in highly prestigious centres.
