A team of scientists at the West Pomeranian University of Technology is working on a technology for intelligent internal care of cementitious composites. According to Dr Adam Zieliński of the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering, the technology his team is developing is a revolution in the construction market.
“A special care complex will be designed for each type of concrete, which may include completely different materials. Our inoculations will perform the same task, namely to minimise the susceptibility of concrete to cracking throughout its maturation phase. Concrete needs to be properly cared for”, convinces Dr Zieliński.
A care complex of his authorship may soon appear in supermarkets. Several Polish and foreign companies have expressed interest in the idea. In order to create a prototype, the laboratory for shrinkage deformation and susceptibility to cracking will be expanded. The technology is expected to be developed within 3 years.
