Dr Eng. Anna Miśniakiewicz from Wrocław University of Science and Technology has won the main prize in the National Competition of the State Fund for Persons with Disabilities “Open Doors”. The jury appreciated her doctoral thesis on the role of urban space in the social activation of the senior community.
In her doctoral thesis, the researcher tackled the role of urban space in the social activation of the senior community. She wanted to attract the interest of Polish designers to the problems and issue of shaping an urban environment conducive to the activity of the elderly and positive social behaviour, which is extremely important in the context of the approaching demographic collapse.
The competition of the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities recognises scientific works that focus on disability in its health, vocational and social dimensions, as well as technological solutions that serve people with disabilities.
