Dr Michał Klichowski of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan published his researchshowing that people copy the behavior of artificial intelligence in the journal “Frontiers in Psychology”.
Dr Klichowski developed and used the robot that he called FI – “fake intelligence”. This name refers to the acronym AI – artificial intelligence.
– This machine during the experiments behaved irrationally, exactly as I planned. It was only pretending to be intelligent. Moreover, its behavior was clearly “stupid.” Over 85% participants of the experiment, however, ignored it and considered its behavior as a benchmark for their own behaving – says the professor.
Research shows that the mechanism called “social evidence of rightness” can be extended to artificial intelligence in situations when the behavior of other people becomes a source of information for other humans.
