Dr Agata Szczeszak from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, conducts research on paper and ink emitting visible light of the desired color.
The project is financed from the National Center for Research and Development under the LIDER IX program. It assumes the production of ecological cellulose fibers as well as paper and ink with synthesized structure and synthesized luminescent modifiers.
The modifiers, i.e. inorganic micro- or nanomaterials contain rare earth elements, that allows fibers, paper and ink to emit visible light with the desired color. The light emission will be activated in two-band – ultraviolet and / or infrared radiation.
The produced fibers will be used in industry for the production of so-called security and light paper personalization of identification cards, and unique paper and ink to obtain original packaging and advertising materials.
