Dr Kinga Kamieniarz-Gdula, Faculty of Biology and the Center for Advanced Technologies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań received a grant from the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). The Poznań scientist intends to investigate how prematurely stopping the “reading” of a gene (in scientific language: transcription termination) influences the functioning of normal and cancer cells.
– Receiving the EMBO Installation Grant means that my research team is included in the prestigious European network of molecular biologists. It is an ennoblement, but also practical help in the development of skills and contacts of our young research team – says the researcher.
EMBO is an organization of scientists who promote excellence in life sciences. Its aim is to support talented scientists at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information and help build a research environment.
