Dr Eng. Aleksander Orłowski, Department of Management, Gdańsk University of Technology, was appointed to the team developing the new National Urban Policy. It operates under the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and the Institute of Urban and Regional Development.
Prof. Aleksander Orłowski will work to make cities more friendly to residents and more attractive to entrepreneurs to do business. This will be achieved by developing recommendations on counteracting spatial chaos, involving residents in city management, creating sustainable urban mobility, and undertaking low-emission and energy efficiency measures in cities.
The aim of the National Urban Policy is to indicate where and how it is possible to increase the effectiveness of public institutions, as well as private and social initiatives to achieve the goals of urban policy more efficiently.
