Dr Miłosz Ruszkowski from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Poznań received the AgroBioTop scientific award, granted by the Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It honors young scientists whose achievements in biotechnology have contributed to the development of agricultural sciences and to the development of agriculture.
The award jury appreciated the winner’s outstanding scientific achievement in structural biology – creating the basis for the design of biologically active substances. As a result, it will allow creating varieties of crops with increased resistance and will restore the usefulness of soil contaminated with heavy metals.
Dr Miłosz Ruszkowski is the Head of the Department of Structural Biology of Eukaryotes at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Adam Mickiewicz.
