Dr Krystyna Pieńkowska from the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Medical University of Gdańsk was nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2019 in the category “Scientist of the future”.
The Intelligent Development Center nominated a Gdańsk researcher for the implementation of the project “Interaction studies between siloxanes (silicones) and the structure of human skin as well as an assessment of their effects”, which received funding from the National Science Center in 2019 as part of the Opus 16 competition.
The interdisciplinary project is implemented in the scientific cooperation of pharmacists and physicists from the Department of Physical Chemistry and the Department of Applied Pharmacy of the pharmaceutical faculty of the Medical University of Gdansk, the Optronics Laboratory of the Institute of Mechanical Technology of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Management at the Poznan University of Technology and the Department of Structural Research and Medical Physics of the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa.
