The Christine Pierre Award is granted to researchers who revolutionize clinical research. Dr Seklecka defeated scientists from the USA, Great Britain and Switzerland in the competition as the originator, founder and head of the Early Phase Clinical Research Center of the University Clinical Center. The center deals with the initial testing of new drugs – incl. determining their doses and assessing the effectiveness and impact on the patient’s body.

The organizers of the competition appreciated the work of Dr Seklecka, emphasizing that after only one year of operating, the Center conducts research on 23 new drugs in cooperation with many modern laboratories. The laureate trained the team herself to fully and reliably analyze the tested substances.
