Magdalena Pawlik from the Institute of Physics at the Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk has been nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2019 in the category “Scientist of the Future” for the project “Optical characteristics of pine pollen grains and their impact on the quality of remote measurements in the Baltic Sea”.
Comprehensive measurements of the optical properties of pine pollen and pollen grains found in seawater, as well as its mixture with different amount of optically significant water components will contribute to the knowledge of natural water optics. The results of the research will help to reduce errors in the creation and interpretation of satellite maps.
The Polish Intellectual Development Award is being fought by projects implemented by Polish scientific institutions, institutions and companies dealing with research and development activities that, through their innovative investments and solutions, support the sustainable development of Poland.
