Professor Elżbieta Gołat, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Poznań University of Economics, was elected chairman-elect of the Demographic Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the 2020-2023 term.
The Committee on Demographic Sciences takes actions to develop demographics and population surveys and use them for the benefit of the Polish society by organizing discussions and conferences, preparing expert opinions and expressing opinions on matters of the state’s population policy in cooperation with the Government Population Council and the Central Statistical Office and foreign demographic scientific organizations.
Prof. Gołat deals with a demographic analysis, quality of statistical data, integration of various sources of information, statistical research methodology, labor market, small area statistics, regional and social statistics, territorial diversity of demographic processes, multidimensional demographic and statistical analysis.
