Krzysztof Wegner from Poznan University of Technology has been nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2019 in the category: “Scientist of the Future”. He received his nomination for the project “MUCHA – Spatial Image Registration and Processing System” financed by the National Center for Research and Development under the LIDER VIII program.

The aim of the Poznań researcher’s work is to develop an innovative system of recording and processing of spatial images with very high resolution, a large number of registered beams and a wide angle of acquisition. The result of the project will be the technology of the construction of a new generation of spatial image cameras.

Along with the spatial image registration system, specialized algorithms processing the recorded spatial mobile scene will be developed. They will enable virtual walks in previously recorded mobile spatial scenes and precise geometric measurements of registered objects.
