Dr Agnieszka Gajewicz-Skrętna from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk received the Internet users’ prize in the “Lirene Woman plebiscite. Innovation. Nature” competition. The laureate is developing new computer tools supporting chemical risk assessment that minimize the number of laboratory animals used for research, reducing the time and cost of research, and the amount of waste.
Over 200 women representing Business, Lifestyle and Science participated in the competition. The organizers wanted to award activists, innovators and entrepreneurs who work for the environment and shape a better future through their everyday work.
Dr. Agnieszka Gajewicz-Skrętna from the beginning of her scientific work has worked for the faculty of chemistry of the University of Gdańsk. In the years 2016-2017 she completed a one-year postdoctoral internship at the National Institute for Environmental Studies, Research Center for Environmental Risk (Tsukuba, Japan).
