Prof. Marcin Stępień, Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław has been awarded the Maria Skłodowskiej-Curie Award for a series of works on new strategies for the synthesis of complex aromatic structures.
Prof. Marcin Stępień is the head of the Organic Synthesis Group of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław university. His team develops methodology for the synthesis of hetero- and carbocyclic aromatic compounds. The study of the so-called a wrapping strategy, the use of which allowed to obtain synthetically extremely demanding systems, including hyperbolic octene.
Professor Stępień’s scientific activity has been noticed by the national and international scientific community, and he has been repeatedly awarded with prestigious awards, including Award of the Minister of Science for outstanding scientific achievements.
