Dr Eng. Remigiusz Wiśniewski from the University of Zielona Góra will carry out the project “Modelling of cyber-physical systems with the use of the interpreted Petri network – scientific internship at UC Berkeley”. The internship at the University of California is financed within the call Miniatura of the National Science Center.
The scientist will hold a scientific internship at the University of California in Berkeley with Prof. Edward A. Lee, an eminent specialist in the field of cyber-physical systems. During the stay, the author of the project is planning to conduct basic research in terms of the possibility of using the interpreted Petri network in the modelling of cyber-physical systems (Cyber-Physical Systems, CPS).
Petri nets enable graphical representation of the system, and their greatest advantage is to take into account the concurrency relationships taking place in a given system. In addition, they offer a wide range of analysis and decomposition methods that support modelling and verification of the designed system.
