Vice-rector for medical science at the Medical University of Bialystok, Prof. Marcin Moniuszko and Prof. Marek Konarzewski from the University of Bialystok joined the team for scientific cooperation with USA.

This team was created by the ordinance of the Minister of Health of August 2018.

Under the Polish-American agreement, scientists from both countries will cooperate in the field of joint research and training. The priorities include: vaccine-preventable diseases and other infectious diseases, tuberculosis – in particular its multi-drug resistant strains and strains with enhanced drug resistance – pandemic flu, chronic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, malignant tumors, diabetes, respiratory diseases and dementia. Joint Polish-American research will also concern mental health.
