Researchers from the Institute of Sociology at the University of Silesia in Katowice are implementing the international project ‘Strengthening metropolitan cooperation and governance in Central Europe’ (MECOG-CE). The project is funded by the Interreg Central Europe 2021-2027 programme.
The aim of the initiative is to develop tools for effective cooperation and governance in partner metropolitan areas, taking into account the specific characteristics of Central European urban areas. This will increase the capacity of metropolitan areas to meet global challenges.
Representatives of the city of Brno (Czech Republic) are involved in coordinating the project. The University of Silesia in Katowice, together with Charles University in Prague, is responsible for preparing the analysis of the metropolitan dimension.
