Scientists from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań in cooperation with researchers from the University of Warsaw, Center for International Climate Change from Oslo and Norwegian Institute for Air Research from Kjeller will work on developing a transdisciplinary methodology in research on climate change.
The project “Experiencing climate change. Transdisciplinary study of city overheating” won the IdeaLab competition of the National Science Center. Combining the exact sciences, social sciences and humanities, researchers will show how the environmental and biological aspects of urban overheating combine with the social experiences of people.
The project combines abstract, global and seemingly detached natural and physical phenomena with local knowledge and embodied human experiences. The goal is to examine how people can experience climate change and to analyze climate change as natural and social phenomena.
