Researchers at the Medical University of Gdańsk (GUMed) co-created a draft act on the pharmacist profession.

The Act is expected by the entire pharmaceutical community and is part of the implementation of the governmental strategic project “Drug Policy of the State for 2018-2022” prepared by members of the Ministerial Team of Experts. The work was chaired by Deputy Minister Dr Marcin Czech, his deputy Dr Agnieszka Zimmermann, head of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Law Department at GUMed.

The project includes many modern solutions including providing a pharmacist the possibility of performing health care services within pharmaceutical care. It also assures the right to issue prescriptions for continuing therapy. The pharmacists’ community has appealed for this solution for long time, pointing to similar competences awarded to nurses.
