Experts from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz (UŁ) co-implemented a 2-year project financed by the European Commission. Its goal was to draw attention to the importance of dialogue and the growing role of social partners in the aging of European society.
The project was focused on indicating effective methods for extending professional activity and managing employees of different ages, using the tools of so-called active aging and intergenerational knowledge transfer between younger and older employees.
Three academic institutions took part in the project: University of Valencia (Spain), ADAPT – research institute from Bergamo (Italy) and University of Lodz. The leader of the project was FIRST-CISL – the most representative trade union in the Italian financial sector.
The project analyzed European demographic scenarios, the effects of the ‘digital revolution’ and the changes caused in the demands of the labor market within the financial sector.
Based on achieved data, the creators of the project have created a bank of good practices in the financial sector for the countries of the European Community.
