The year 2021 has been declared the International Year of Caves and Karst. Therefore, the University of Wrocław has planned a number of actions. It will create a special website dedicated to research in caves, scientists will organize research teams and exploration projects, as well as actions for schools and residents of Lower Silesia and Poland.
The university managed to persuade the caretakers of Lower Silesian the Niedźwiedzia and Radochowska caves to cooperate in the next year’s program. Scientists will involve speleologists and organizations dealing with the protection and research of karst in their joint work. The activities will be carried out on a large scale – international teams of scientists of Poland, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and other countries will be established.
When the pandemic situation allows, scientists will invite cave enthusiasts to the Sudetas or to the Kraków-Wieluń Jura Region for sightseeing, field conferences, research and didactic camps.
