For the sixteenth time, the calls for OPUS and PRELUDIUM competitions begin, and for the fourteenth time it starts for the SONATA competition. In domestic competitions, a total of PLN 480 million is to be received by Polish researchers. In cooperation with the German Research Community, the BEETHOVEN CLASSIC 3 call and the new – BEETHOVEN LIFE 1. call will be launched. In international calls, scientists can obtain PLN 50 million. In total, there is a record pool of PLN 530 million to be received in open calls.
– We welcome the fact that cooperation with the German Research Community has been extended by a call in the field of life sciences. Thanks to this, the offer for researchers cooperating with the German side has been completed – says Prof. Zbigniew Błocki, director of NCN.
In turn, Prof. Janusz Janeczek, chairman of the NCN Council, emphasizes that in the OPUS, PRELUDIUM and SONATA calls “the level of applications submitted every year is getting higher and it happened that good applications were rejected due to insufficient budget of a given competition”.
– We wanted to increase the pool of funds, thanks to which more valuable projects will have a chance for implementation – explains Prof. Janeczek.
