The Automotive Ecology Laboratory at the Department of Motor Vehicles and Transport Engineering of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aviation of the Rzeszów University of Technology have been equipped with a specialized mobile system for the analysis and monitoring of gas and dust air pollutants SOWA.
A specialized mobile system for the analysis and monitoring of gaseous and particulate air pollutants SOWA allows the measurement of the concentration of suspended dust (PM 2.5, PM10) and harmful gases – nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2), carbon monoxide CO, volatile organic compounds VOC and sulfur dioxide SO2, which are the result of exhaust emissions from motor vehicles, industry and the so-called low emission sources.
In addition to this purchase, the Automotive Ecology Laboratory also gained the Davis Vantage Pro2 plus meteorological station, which enables wireless reading of measurements of UV solar radiation, temperature, humidity, pressure as well as wind speed and direction.
On the basis of these investments, in the near future, the university is planning to create its own air quality control station.
