Dr Maciej Szpunar from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Silesian University was elected the new first general spokesman of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

The decision on the nomination was made after receiving the opinion of Committee of all General Advocates, to which Maciej Szpunar belongs since October 2013. He will perform its function for three years.

The spokesperson will deal with organization of the work of General Advocates, who support the work of the judges of the Tribunal, presenting in an impartial and independent manner, legal opinions on cases considered by the Court of Justice of the European Union.
