Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań has launched this year’s School of Molecular and Theoretical Biology. 82 high school students from Poland, Belarus, Croatia, Spain, Moldova, Germany, Russia and the United Kingdom as well as from the Philippines and the USA take part in it.
During the classes, participants implement projects under the guidance of outstanding scientists. – The idea of the school is primarily to involve students in scientific research, conducted by experts from around the world. Each participant independently chooses a team of specialists with whom she wants to cooperate – says the head of the Evolutionary Biology Laboratory at the University, Prof. Jacek Radwan.
Classes are conducted by about 100 lecturers – scientists, university staff, PhD students and people responsible for the organization of the project. They are scientists from Harvard University, Adam Mickiewicz University, the University of Edinburgh and the Moscow State University.
