On June 7 and 8, the Institute of History of the University of Lodz organizes a scientific conference “People of War” within the series Faces of War.
– Our goal is to present the persons who have marked the history of wars – heroes and traitors, outstanding leaders and losers, well-known people and those who remained hidden in the shadows.
The conference is interdisciplinary. Historians, archaeologists, political scientists and representatives of other scientific disciplines are invited to participate in it. During this event, many speakers will hold their lectures: Andrzej Niewiński from the Catholic University of Lublin with a lecture “William Marshal, the best knight ever lived”, Rafał Wróblewski from the Museum of Romanticism in Opinogóra will hold the lecture “Polish cavalrymen of the Emperor Napoleon I” and Dariusz Radziwiłłowicz from the University of Warmia and Mazury, who will remind “Brigadier General Kazimierz Rumsza, the forgotten Siberian commander of the Polish division”.
