The national scientific conference “Traditional culture in the perspective of protection of heritage and regional identities” will take place on 29 November 2018 at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin.

The event is connected with the 70th birthday anniversary of Prof. Jan Adamowski – the founder of the Institute of Cultural Studies of UMCS and a long-term research worker at the Institute of Polish Philology.

During the jubilee celebrations, the laudation will be delivered by Prof. Jerzy Bartmiński to gathered friends and students of Prof. Adamowski. The conference program will include debates, thematic sessions, discussions and presentations on traditional culture.

The event is organized by the Institute of Cultural Studies and the Institute of Polish Philology at UMCS, Polskie Towarzystwo Ludoznawcze, the Polish Society of Folklore in Lublin in cooperation with the Association of Folk Artists.
