On October 21, a three-day plenary meeting of the European Research Council (ERC) started in Krakow. The Scientific Council consists of 22 outstanding European scientists, representing various scientific disciplines. It usually provides plenary sessions at the ERC headquarters in Brussels five times a year. This time the meeting is hosted by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
During the plenary session, the Council will discuss with scientists and the public about the issues of ERC communication and steps taken in connection with the new Horizon Europe framework program. The members also address the open access to publications and data from scientific research, as well as summarized results of work of individual working groups.
On Thursday, October 24, the Council will hold a meeting for representatives of the ERC Scientific Council and Polish scientists. The meeting will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin, president of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Jerzy Duszyński, chairman of the Main Council of Science and Higher Education Prof. Zbigniew Marciniak and ERC chairman Jean-Pierre Bourguignon.
