Shanghai Ranking Consultancy has announced this year’s list of universities. There are ten scientific disciplines of the University of Warsaw on the ranking lists.

The highest places (51-75) were taken by mathematics and physics. The others are political science, which took the place of 201-300, ecology, psychology, economics, computer engineering (in places 301-400), chemistry, earth sciences and material engineering (places 401-500).
Dr Maciej Duszczyk, vice-rector for science at the University of Warsaw, emphasizes that these results are excellent news for the university and a good prognosis before the overall results of the ranking, which will be published in mid-August.

Shanghai’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is an international list of universities evaluated in terms of 54 scientific disciplines – natural, social and medical sciences, engineering, as well as life sciences. This year, more than 4,000 universities were listed from around the world. The top positions have been taken by American universities, the best was Harvard University.
