Multifunctional unmanned underwater platform of the AUV-Stealth type, developed by Dr Eng. Mirosław Gerigek, faculty of mechanical engineering and shipbuilding at the Gdańsk University of Technology was nominated in the 9th National Competition “State Security Leader 2021”.
– There are more and more challenges related to defense at sea. Now, operating at sea must be quiet. The war of the future will be a half or fully robotic war with people staying on the second line. The first line will be filled with unmanned objects, rockets and robots. From the point of view of people, this is a safer approach, but it may turn out to be more destructive and may disturb local relations, but also in a continental sense – says Prof. Mirosław Gerigk.
His platform was designed in accordance with the requirements of modern naval warfare, with the use of stealth technology to reduce the possibility of detection of an object by sight, hearing and technical methods.
