Scientist from the Wrocław University of Technology, Dr Eng. Jerzy Łątka was qualified for the world finals of FameLab – an international competition for scientists who can impress with their stories about issues that we perceive as complicated on a daily basis.
The FameLab competition has been organized in Great Britain since 2005 as part of the Cheltenham Science Festival – since 2007 in cooperation with the British Council. So far, over 10,000 people have participated in the event including scientists and engineers from 31 countries. Competition participants have three minutes to talk about their projects. They can use various items for this, but cannot use multimedia.
Dr Łątka won first the national finals, and then the semi-finals, where he competed with scientists from 23 countries. The competition judges selected eight finalists, and the audience, who watched the presentations on Youtube, added two favorites to this group.
