Dr Tomasz Grzywny from the faculty of mathematics at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology won an award from the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences for outstanding scientific achievements in mathematics in 2022. He was recognized for his breakthrough results in probabilistic potential theory, especially in the field of unimodal Lévy processes.

Prize and financial gratification in the amount of 15 thousand PLN was awarded to Dr Tomasz Grzywny for his series of thirteen publications on the theory of the potential of step processes or, equivalently, non-local differential equations.

This is another distinction recently awarded to a researcher from Wrocław University of Science and Technology. At the beginning of this year, he was the laureate of the Wacław Sierpiński Award of the Polish Academy of Sciences in mathematics (2022).

“This award is, above all, another incentive to submit a professor’s application”, says the laureate.
