Scientist Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Dr Eng. Andrzej Chmielarz was re-elected as president of the PROMETIA – Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy for Mining and Recycling Innovation Association.

PROMETIA is an international non-profit association based in Brussels, whose aim is to promote innovation in the processing of non-ferrous ores and the extraction metallurgy of primary and secondary raw materials. It associates over 30 members – producers, small and medium-sized enterprises, academic universities and research institutes.

The aim of the association is also to strengthen competences in the field of processing mineral resources and to support the development of the industry in Europe through promoting in the industry the most innovative, breakthrough scientific solutions created in European research teams and helping to organize activities aimed at obtaining funds for research funding.
