Professor Łukasz Krzych, head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Medical University of Silesia, took second place in the competition Supertalents in Medicine.
The main idea of the competition organized since 2012 is to award the leaders of the young generation of doctors who, thanks to their knowledge, skills and predispositions will set the tone for Polish medicine and the healthcare system in the coming years. The winners of this year’s program were selected by a jury consisting of 10 specialists from various fields of medicine.
The candidates were evaluated in three categories: scientific achievements (including grants, scholarships, publications, awards); involvement in activities in public space (including charity, trade union and association activities) and prospects for further development (opportunities for influence in Polish medicine and healthcare in the coming years).
