Representatives of Polish technical universities and the Ministry of National Defence visited nuclear facilities in Japan – including the Fukushima power plant, laboratories and personnel training centres. The materials collected are to enrich the educational programmes at Polish universities.

Representatives from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and the Technical Universities of Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Silesia, Warsaw and Wroclaw participated in the trip.

In their opinion, the opportunity to enter facilities that are not normally open to the public has significantly contributed to broadening the competence of staff responsible for preparing personnel for the Polish Nuclear Power Programme. 

The materials collected will broaden the awareness of the national public on the subject of nuclear power plant safety and enable the potential associated with the possibility of conducting unique research in the field of new technologies to be exploited.
